Cottonwood Hiking

Muktuk Adventures

Experience the beauty of Kluane National Park with this challenging and rewarding backcountry hiking trip.

Overview

Moving into our cozy wilderness loge at the shores of the Takhini river will make you instantly feel like part of our family. We will check everybody’s gear and make sure everyone is properly prepared for the adventure ahead, before indulging into a delicious dinner.

After a hearty breakfast the next morning our adventure will take us on a scenic drive to Haines Junction, where you get a chance to explore the visitor center and learn about local culture and history, while we are checking on latest trail updates and checking in for our back country trip.

From there we will head directly to the trail head at either Mush Lake or Kathleen Lake, depending on trail conditions.
The Cottonwood Trail will take us over two mountain passes, beautiful valleys with spectacular scenery and numerous creek crossing. While the trail is well defined for most the way it is not be underestimated.

Our experienced guide will spoil you with delicious meals, our top-notch gear will keep you warm and comfortable.
At the end of the hike our shuttle will take us back to the Muktuk Lodge, where we all get to have a well-deserved shower or sauna if you wish so, before sharing stories of the trail. You get to spend one more night at our lodge.
