For the intermediate canoeist, The Big Salmon is a magic combination: a truly wild and scenic Yukon river that is accessible to paddlers. The Big Salmon is remote, seeing only a handful of paddlers each year. It’s winding, narrow, and offers some exciting wave trains and eddies to play on, but the difficulties can be avoided and are also suitable for beginners, however basics of paddling should be necessarily present. Like much of Yukon, the river has its gold rush history, but today it remains in a pristine natural state, teeming populations of moose, Dall sheep, bears and beaver. The water is clear and cold. For the fisherman, this is an ideal chance to catch trout, grayling, pike and, if we’re lucky, migrating salmon in the fall. This is one of our favourite tours, highly recommended for travellers who want to step off the beaten track.

Ruby Range Adventure
Such a great Yukon adventure we went on!!! The guides Benny, Simon and Jonas were AWESOME!!! Taking great care of us, with safety and fun the top priorities. Highly recommended, and can’t wait to go again – Thanks!
Yukon and Alaska tour with Ruby Range Adventure was one of my best experiences ever. Professional organization, friendly and willing tour guide who was knowledgeable about the history of the places and cities we visited. The trip filled all of my expectations plus we were a good group having fun and a good time on the way. If I went to Alaska and the Yukon again, I would choose Ruby Range Advanture again, for sure. I can really recommend this company.
