First off, a caution. This trip may send you home tired! With the midnight sun, Yukoners just keep doing things. Arriving on an afternoon or evening flight, we'll transfer you to your hotel. Early the next morning, we'll start our first activity, juggling days depending on weather.
One day will be a long day trip to Atlin, B.C., a historic gold rush town, for a glimpse into days gone by. Magnificent scenery, genuine period buildings, a vast lake with glaciers flowing in – well, you'll just have to see it.
Another day will be a 4x4 scramble up an old mining road into the alpine, with wonderful overlooks of the Coast Mountains and the world spread out far below. Depending on which road is open, we may see a variety of wildlife. Personally, we've seen grizzlies, caribou, lynx, wolves, moose, goats, and more.
The third day will be a boat trip on one of our big lakes, such as Lake Laberge, made famous by the poet Robert Service. Fishing is an option, or we'll just cruise and enjoy a day on the water in a wonderful setting. At the end of the third day we'll get you to the airport for your evening flight home.
Included in this tour are an experienced guide, transport, safety gear, hotels, lunches and any admissions. You pay for your airfare, breakfast and dinners, personal purchases, and an additional hotel night if you prefer to relax after the third day and fly the next morning.
